On December 17, 1903, the entire world changed. Far away lands did not move, but they grew nearer. Oceans did not shrink, but they became far less significant. These changes did not take place right away, but this is the day it all began. On that cold, windy December day, with his brother Wilbur watching, a bicycle shop owner named Orville Wright flew 112 feet in 12 seconds and became the first man to fly in a powered heavier-than-air craft. The age of the aircraft had begun. The Wright Brothers' fascination with flying dates back to their childhood, when their father, Bishop Milton Wright, brought them an amazing little toy, known as a "hélicoptère." It was built of cork, bamboo and paper and was powered by two rubber bands. According to Orville, this amazing toy, which the boys called a bat, "flew across the room till it struck the ceiling, where it fluttered awhile, and finally sank to the floor." The fragile toy didn't last long in the boys' hands, but the ideas it sparked survived and grew. Soon they were building their own "bats" and later moved on to building and flying kites. The brothers' operated a bicycle shop to pay their bills, but Orville's passion still pointed to the skies. By the 1890s, Wilbur was devouring every bit of information he could collect on the then infantile science of aërial navigation or human flight. The Megatech Wright Flyer was specifically designed to ensure that the rank beginner should have a successful and happy experience on their very first remote control airplane flight. The Megatech Wright Flyer's electronic and aerodynamic technologies were developed concurrently such that both work together creating a super stable and easy to fly RC airplane. Get the best of both worlds, new and old, with Megatech's Wright Flyer. Megatech has combined the ultra-gentle flying characteristics of a featherweight canard biplane with the latest in microelectronics. The 100% RTF (ready to fly) Wright Flyer electric radio control airplane, features CPU controlled twin motors that use thrust-vectoring to turn the airplane. Enjoy this piece of aviation history in a miniature that really flies--and does so extremely well! The Megatech Wright Flyer comes in a Collectors Anniversary Edition gift box and is complete with a history booklet and Certificate of Authenticity, signed by the Wright family heir and the President of Megatech International, Inc. The Megatech Wright Flyer is the ONLY officially licensed radio controlled Wright Flyer recognized and supported by the Wright Family Fund, a 501(C)(3) charitable foundation founded by the heirs of Orville and Wilbur Wright.
